We express our solidarity to the 500 Israeli public figures who launched on September 15th, 2016, a call in favour of “a negotiated solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which will lead to the creation of an independent Palestinian State alongside the State of Israel”.
Because we love Israel, because we care about the well-being and the safety of Israelis, we have no right to remain silent. We support the efforts of our Israeli friends and of our friends around the world, in order to “end the occupation and build a new future, in the best interest of the State of Israel and of the generations to come.”.
A Call to the Jews of the World:
If You Care About Israel,Silence Is No Longer an Option!
As the year 2017 approaches, marking 50 years of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, Israel stands at a crossroad. The present situation is disastrous.
The prolonged occupation is inherently oppressive for Palestinians and fuels mutual bloodshed. It undermines the moral and democratic fabric of the State of Israel and hurts its standing in the community of nations.
Our best hope for the future – the surest path toward security, peace, and prosperity – lies in a negotiated resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that will result in the establishment of an independent Palestinian State alongside the State of Israel.
We call upon Jews around the world to join with Israeli partners for coordinated action to end the occupation and build a new future, for the sake of the State of Israel and the generations to come.
This call has been signed by more than 500 Israeli public figures among them : Elie Barnavi, Michaël Ben-Yaïr, David Broza, Avrum Burg, Orly Castel-Bloom, Naomi Chazan, Yaël Dayan, Amos Gitai, David Grossman, Daniel Kahneman, Dani Karavan, Avishai Margalit, Ronit Matalon, Sami Michael, Amram Mitzna, Ohad Naharin, Achinoam Nini (Noa), Amos Oz, Michal Rovner, Alice Shalvi, Joshua Sobol, Zeev Sternhell, David Tartakover, Haïm Yavin et Moshe Zuckermann.
